Watermelon Blueberry Picnic Salad



¼ cup olive or grapeseed oil
1 tsp. coarsely crushed * peppercorns
1 tsp. coarsely crushed *coriander seeds
½ tsp. cumin * seeds
½ tsp. ground turmeric
¼ large seedless watermelon (about 3 lb.), rind removed, flesh cut into ½" pieces (about 4 cups)
2 medium heirloom BC tomatoes, cut into ½" pieces
½ cup (or more) fresh BC blueberries, well rinsed
8 oz. mild feta, cut into ½" pieces
Flaky sea salt 


Heat, on low, oil, peppercorns, coriander, cumin, and turmeric in a small saucepan over medium until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Let (this) turmeric oil cool to room temperature.
Arrange watermelon, tomato, blueberries, and feta on a plate . Drizzle turmeric oil evenly over and sprinkle with salt.

Note: If taking along somewhere, keep dressing in a jar and drizzle just before serving. If crushing isn’t working, try a quiz buzz in a coffee grinder, or use powered, reduce amount slightly.
