Askew's has been serving the people of Salmon Arm since 1929. The success of our business is dependent on the dedication and goodwill of our employees. We value their efforts on behalf of our customers. Askew’s also provides long term employees the option of joining a pension plan that also includes administrative, investment, communication and educational support from our pension plan provider.

At Askew’s, we’re proud to be part of the communities we serve. We believe being a good neighbour is beneficial for both our customers and our employees. Each way we help speaks to how much we value our community and our employees. Askew’s supports all types of events to help individuals, groups and clubs in our communities.
We know it’s important for people to have the food they need. It’s why all of our stores donate to local foods banks. All employees can voluntary donate a dollar amount of their choosing to Askew’s Charitable Donation Fund. Every year those funds are donated to a charity of the collective staffs choosing.
Every year, Askew’s supports our high school students with financial scholarships to help fund our local graduates’ efforts to continue their education. Although the high schools select who the scholarships are awarded to, the graduate must either be an employee or a child of an employee of Askew’s.
As a family owned company, we truly respect and listen to our employees. We are always open to suggestions on how we can improve our stores and bring in new high-quality products.
We have a large number of long-term employees, which is not usual in the grocery store industry, so we think this speaks volumes of the Askew’s employee culture. Every year we celebrate our long-term employees’ work and dedication with an Employee Recognition Evening. Our longest-term employee is currently entering his 44th year of employment with Askew’s.
Our employee's safety is of the upmost importance. Askew’s Foods operates in full compliance with WorkSafe BC guidelines. We also offer opportunities for Food Safe Level 1 & First Aid training to all our employees.
