giving back

Because we also love watching the concerts.
And the games. And everything you do.

intro

Our store managers and other staff are passionate about supporting causes in the local communities that are important to our customers and our towns. We believe communities thrive when we all work together.

what we do

Each of our stores donate food to nearby food banks. We have the food and the food banks have the systems in place to get it to the people who need it, so it works out very well.
Supporting a variety of local fundraisers and events is the everyday way Askew’s builds community relationships. Several times throughout the year we give to local groups who make donation requests to us at the store level.
We support local organizations providing humanitarian support, youth and adult sports, town celebrations and many more. Chances are we can help, whether it’s a gift card donation or a larger community sponsorship opportunity.
Roots and Blues Festival, men’s and women’s golf, archery, figure skating, baseball, soccer, swimming, the Shuswap Food Action Co-op, Downtown Salmon Arm (formerly the DIA), the Armstrong Lions Club, Caravan Theatre, Kindale, Armstrong Metal Fest, Salmon Arm Arts Centre are some of the groups we have given to recently.

R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum is a 40 acre heritage village in Salmon Arm. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generous support of community-minded individuals and businesses like Askew’s Foods to help us keep the stories of our community alive. Askew’s Foods has been a consistent supporter of the Village & Museum for more than 26 years on projects big and small!
— Susan Mackie, General Manager
Always a pleasure to work with Askew’s as they are attentive, helpful and ready to be involved! We appreciate their involvement in the community and their support for local organizations and events!
— Lindsay Wong, Manager, Downtown Salmon Arm (formerly DIA)
